EXA Investor Analytics
EXA Analytics is a unique stock-idea-generation utility for sophisticated investors. Investor Analytics helps investors make better investment decisions by combining powerful analytical tools, an intuitive Flash technology-based user interface, and the highest-quality and most reliable data available on banks and thrifts in one application.
The EXA suite includes
(1) a Selection Tool, (2) a Valuation Tool and
(3) a Stock Ranking Tool.
With
Selection Tool, search for banks and thrifts that fit a set of criteria, such as market capitalization, geographic location, financial performance, and many other industry benchmarks.
Valuation Tool provides both price/earnings and price/book based valuations. It's built on an SNL stock valuation model that allows users to value banks and thrifts based upon a set of 16 different user-specified metrics, such as changes in net interest margin, asset growth or pricing multiples. The outputs are compared to the market price of the relevant bank or thrift, and percentage differences between the implied valuation and the market price of a bank or thrift are calculated and displayed.
Stock Ranking Tool runs the EXA valuation model from Valuation Tool using a set of user-defined global assumptions against all of the stocks in the bank and thrift industry.
Stock Ranking Tool then ranks the differences between the implied valuations and the market prices for the stocks. Users may then filter this ranked list based upon implied valuations (e.g. undervalued versus overvalued stocks), market capitalization, geographic region and/or valuation model type. Users may create a "custom list" of stocks to value using the Ranking Tool as well.
